We are dreamers, adventurers, and storytellers
At Miya Films, we tell stories that matter. From weddings and documentaries to interviews, narratives, corporate films, and live events, we capture moments with style and purpose.
Our films are more than recordings — they’re experiences, crafted to move, inspire, and last a lifetime.
hello
My name is Penn Tangu,
Cinematographer & editor
I found my way into filmmaking through a love of storytelling and the thrill of capturing life as it happens. What started as experimenting with a camera soon grew into a passion for turning real moments into cinematic experiences — whether it’s a wedding, a documentary, or a live event. There’s something magical about preserving emotions in motion, creating memories people can return to again and again.
The name Miya Films is deeply personal — it’s named after my daughter, a reminder that every story I capture should be as precious and timeless as the memories we hold closest.
I’m inspired by both the craft of cinema and the uniqueness of every story I tell. My aim is always to go beyond “just filming” — to create films that feel alive, meaningful, and timeless.
When I’m not behind the camera or deep in an edit, you’ll probably find me with family, or over a good film, or exploring somewhere new with my camera in hand.
My Approach
Every project is different, and that’s what excites me. I believe in working closely with people to understand their story and then crafting films that feel personal, fun, and authentic. I take on a limited number of projects each year to give each one the care and creativity it deserves.
My goal? To capture the energy, emotion, and essence of the moment — so that when you watch it back, you don’t just see it, you feel it all over again.
